Are you experienced with Linux, cloud infrastructure and containers. Are you up to the challenge of building and maintaining IT infrastructure for multiple clients? We’re looking for someone like you.
About Kumina
Kumina provides managed services for an interesting mix of clients in the Netherlands and abroad, since 2007. We stand behind the ideals of open source software, as a company. The last few years we’ve focused on container technology, using Docker and Kubernetes. These solutions are implemented on public cloud environments (Google Cloud, AWS), on bare metal, or on Kumina’s VM environments.
A selection of the tools we work with: Debian Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Apache, Puppet, KVM, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Percona XtraDB, Logstash, ElasticSearch, Kibana, HAProxy and Git.
What you’ll be doing:
You and your colleagues will be responsible for continuity, availability, stability and optimization of our clients IT infrastructure. Our focus is providing high quality services and we value good relations and cooperation with our clients. This means pro-actively handling customer requests and problems, while keeping an eye out for new solutions and points of improvement with a mind to better serve our clients.
Besides maintaining current environments you will frequently build and migrate new environments for our clients, individually or in teams. You will also take part in maintaining, automating and optimizing our own environments and internal business processes. There may also be room for personal projects, within reason.
Do you like advising and consulting clients in your specialization? Kumina also provides consulting and Kubernetes training services, which you may also play a part in. More than enough variety in this job!
You have:
- The minimum working and mental level required: higher professional education
- 1 to 5 years of relevant professional experience as a Linux system administrator
- Experience with, and knowledge of the tools we use, in particular Debian Linux, Kubernetes and Docker are a plus (but not a requirement).
You are:
- Eager to learn, and able to pick up new things quickly
- Someone who can work well in a team, but also complete projects individually
- Prepared to work emergency pager duty rotations
- Good communication skills in English (optionally also Dutch).
We offer:
- A temporary contract, anticipating permanent employment in the future
- A 32 to 40 hour work week
- Remote work, in consultation, with periodic on-site workdays.
- A nice office a 15 minutes walk from the Eindhoven train station
- Flexible working hours, in consultation
- A dynamic, international environment
- An open and informal working environment with a flat organizational structure, direct communication and some good (and bad) humor once in a while
- Opportunities to develop your talents and immerse yourself in new technology
- Continual sharing of knowledge and attention paid to (technological) innovation
- Opportunities to take courses
Terms of employment
Market-rate salary based on knowledge and experience, vacation pay, 25 days of paid vacation a year. Secondary benefits are daily office lunches, a laptop, smartphone and attendant plan, commuting allowance, and the possibility to take courses, among others. Last but not least, we also brew a mean cup of freshly ground coffee.
