Although the example is probably fairly obvious, I’d like to point you to this post on the ibuildings blog about how major transportation companies in NL handle the current chaos, caused by heavy weather. People depend on websites like these to get relevant information and it really is a shame that transportation companies don’t see the value of building a good high-available and (more important!) easily scalable platform for their sites.
